Repairs & Preventative Maintenance

Anthem Surgical provides a consultative, proactive approach to surgical instrument and device repair. Prior to the start of the contract, our technicians will often meet with customers to evaluate needs and recommend the most effective preventative maintenance and repair program.

Anthem Surgical repair technicians are CCSVP (Certified Central Service Vendor Partner) certified through IAHCSMM (International Association of Healthcare Central Service and Materials Management) and ASQ CQI certified through the American Society of Quality. Anthem Surgical repair technicians are certified in Blood Borne Pathogens and Operating Room Protocol.

Surgical Instrument Repair & Maintenance Program

• All makes and models of instruments and devices inspected, tested, cleaned, and repaired.
• All instruments repaired to OEM specifications and industry standards.

Case Cart Repair & Maintenance

• Repair and maintenance includes (but is not limited to) caster replacement, bumper repair and replacement, latch repair and replacement, hinge repair and replacement, decal/sticker/adhesive removal, shelf/rack repair, burr removal, and welding.

Sterilizer Chamber Cleaning

• Non-abrasive, non-damaging cleaning techniques employed to maintain sterilizer chamber integrity and compliance with OEM IFUs.

Rolling Stock Repair & Maintenance

• Rolling Stock repair and maintenance includes (but is not limited to) caster replacement, fastener repair, decal/sticker/adhesive removal, burr removal, and welding.

Surgical Instrument Repair Reporting

• Instrument repair summary reports provided at the conclusion of each on-site repair visit.
• Digital photographs (with up to 250x magnification) and OptiViewer images utilized in repair reports to detail repair findings, communicate repair trends, and identify process improvement opportunities.
• Process improvement opportunities detailed and shared through service reports. 

Surgical Instrument Repair Education

• Digital magnification repair images utilized in repair reports and staff education.
• Customized education administered during the repair process to identify best practices, address departmental issues, diagnose and prevent instrument malfunctions, review care and handling guidelines, prolong instrument life, communicate repair trends, reduce the frequency and severity of repairs, and improve patient safety and clinical efficiency.
• All surgical instrument and surgical device education designed to comply with manufacturers’ specifications and institutional policies.
